Welcome to Grassland Groupies
Grasslands are a human habitat. They are our home, and their conservation, now more than ever, depends upon people who are empowered and inspired to protect them.
At Grassland Groupies, a women-owned nonprofit focused on education and science literacy, we bring people together. We stoke curiosity, build scientific literacy, and rekindle a love for our planet’s most delicate ecosystems. This has been our mission for the last four years, and we’re happy to say that our staff, along with our volunteers and community partners, have accomplished this work in record numbers in 2024.
We reached 10,490 people through in-person programs, directly sharing our message with more than twice as many people as in 2023.
Over 10,000 people have joined us on our global journey across Earth’s grasslands by listening to the Best Biome podcast.
Our Second Annual ICT Bee Fest saw a 50% increase in attendance as more than 750 people came out to celebrate native pollinators.
We debuted new pathways to fuel adult curiosity about the natural world, including nature journal livestreams, night programs, and the new podcast, “Filthy Animals,” a humorous exploration of the R-rated side of nature.
As we take the time to re-energize over the holidays, we look to the blank canvas of 2025 with excitement. We want to thank our followers, old and new, for your support, and invite you to connect with us as we continue our work in the coming year!
